President's Letter
Welcome to the 2023-2024 Brevard County Estate Planning Council Membership Year! I would like to begin by thanking our immediate Past President Dottie Bourlier for her two (!) terms of exemplary service to our Council, which were performed with her characteristic class and many hours of diligent work! I would also thank our Council’s new All-Star “utility player” as of last year, Alexandria Heirston, and her employer, the Community Foundation for Brevard, for sharing her invaluable administrative assistance in herding cats – I mean, working with volunteer estate planning professionals serving in Board leadership roles! As a Council, we remain committed to the highest professional standards deserving of client trust in the planning, execution, and administration of estates. As in years past, the Council will continue to provide opportunities to network and build relationships with local professionals who are involved in estate planning and learn about timely and interesting topics related to the field. Last year reflected that we have emerged stronger as a Council from the challenges of the previous two years, and we are very excited about the prospect of continued growth in the years to come. This year, we will continue with some well-received recent innovations to our activities, notably including two annual lunch meetings and an upgraded online Membership experience in terms of communication and payment. While you’ll receive email invitations and reminders in advance, please mark your calendars now and make special note of the location and timing of each event – again, some are daytime, others evening. In addition to these five events, your BCEPC Membership entitles you to add the Council as a professional affiliation to your CV; provides you with Members-only directory access; and offers networking opportunities with local and regional professionals in the field.
